Therapy & Creative Arts Counselling
Why Start Therapy?
Many people come to therapy when they’re facing emotional challenges or life struggles. Therapy is a way to process experiences, grow, and find healing, from overcoming trauma to dealing with anxiety, depression, or relationship struggles. Seeking therapy is not a sign of weakness, but a tool to strengthen your emotional wellbeing, just like physiotherapy helps the body heal. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Some people come to grow personally or simply to talk things through in a safe, non-judgmental space.
Starting therapy is an important step toward becoming your healthiest, most fulfilled self.
When choosing a therapist, it’s important to feel comfortable and confident in their approach. I encourage you to ask questions and have an initial conversation with me. You can also check my qualifications, experience, and professional memberships to ensure a good fit.

My Therapeutic Approach
Counselling is a journey of growth, healing, and self-discovery. My approach is grounded in creating a space where you feel fully supported, understood, and respected — a safe, non-judgemental environment where you can explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace.
As a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I’m committed to upholding high professional standards and offering thoughtful, ethical care. Alongside my core counselling training, I completed additional specialist training in bereavement counselling, Person-Centred Art Therapy Skills, and Mindfulness.
At the heart of my work is the Person-Centred approach. This means you are always central to the process — and I’m here to walk alongside you with empathy and presence as you explore whatever is on your mind. Whether you’re working through specific challenges or seeking personal growth, our sessions are shaped by your needs, helping you find clarity, build self-compassion, and strengthen your inner resilience.
Using Creative Arts in Therapy
Sometimes, words may not be enough — they might feel too overwhelming, or simply fall short of what you’re really feeling. This is where a creative approach to therapy can offer something different.
Creative arts counselling invites you to explore your inner world through art, music, movement, or other expressive mediums. You don’t need any artistic skill or experience — it’s not about creating something “good,” but about expressing something true.
Engaging creatively can offer new insight, a deeper connection to your emotions, and a way to process experiences that are hard to put into words. An image, a sound, or a movement might speak for you when language can’t. This kind of work can bring surprising clarity, emotional release, and a sense of connection to parts of yourself that have been waiting to be heard.
Benefits of Creative Arts Counselling:
A non-verbal outlet for deep emotional exploration
Empowerment through self-discovery and authentic expression
Healing through creative processes, free from judgment or pressure
A safe, trusting space to explore your experiences
Deeper emotional insight through embodied expression
Supports mindfulness, presence, and nervous system regulation
Enhances creativity, self-awareness, and emotional clarity
Accessible to everyone — no artistic skill required
